What happens if I am late?

Out of respect for the artists and audience members, latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the house management only when there is a suitable break in the performance.  In consideration of the performers and fellow concertgoers, we ask that you remain in your seat until the concert has ended.

When should I arrive?

We suggest you arrive 20 to 30 minutes before any performance is scheduled to begin. This will give you plenty of time to get your tickets, find your seat, relax, and read the program. Concerts generally begin as close to the scheduled time as possible.

When do I applaud?

Applause is the way for the audience to greet or show appreciation for the performer. Applause occurs when performers first take the stage, and at the conclusion of pieces throughout the performance. If you are unsure about when you should applaud, a good rule of thumb is to applaud when others in the audience do.

How can I be added to the mailing list or request a brochure?

May I take photographs or sound recordings of the performance?

We ask that you please turn off your cell phone and other electronic devices before entering the concert hall. Photography, video and sound recording are strictly prohibited at all times.  Unauthorized photographs, video or sound recordings may be confiscated and deleted at the discretion of the management. 

I lost something at the concert. Is there a Lost and Found Department?

Peoples’ Symphony Concerts makes every effort to recover lost items at our concerts.  If you believe you have lost an item while attending a concert, please call us at (212) 586-4680.

Where is the box office located?

For the Mann and Arens Series, our box office is located in the lobby of the Washington Irving High School, located at 40 Irving Place between East 16th and 17th Street and opens at 5:30 PM on concert days.  Our Salomon Series box office is located at Town Hall, at 123 43rd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues and opens 1 hour prior to each concert.

How can I purchase tickets?

You may purchase your tickets online at www.pscny.org or by calling our office Mon-Fri 10:00 AM-4:00 PM at (212) 586-4680 or at the box office on concert days.  Please note that we only accept cash or check for ticket purchases at the box office.  If you would like to use a credit card you may purchase tickets online or via phone.

Where do I pick up my reserved tickets?

You may pick-up your tickets at will call on the evening of the performance.  Please note that all online purchases made the week of the concert will only be available for pick-up at the box office.  If purchased more than one month in advance, the tickets will be mailed to you.

Can I buy tickets to an entire series?

Yes!  Please call our office at (212) 586-4680 to purchase a set of series tickets.  You may also purchase the rest of the series on concert days at the box office.

Is there handicapped seating?  Are the venues and bathrooms handicapped accessible?

Both Washington Irving High School and Town Hall have handicapped seating.  Washington Irving has a handicapped elevator available from the street level.  Only the orchestra level of Town Hall is handicap accessible.  For more information, please call (212) 586-4680.

Can I bring my child to the concert?

Yes!  All of our concerts are open to children of all ages.  

How do I upgrade from a “general admission” subscription to a “reserved” subscription?

In order to upgrade your subscription from a general admission seat to a reserved seat at Washington Irving High School, please call (212) 586-4680 or email info@pscny.org to request placement on the waiting list.  If reserved seats become available to you, we will contact you immediately.

What time does the concert start?  What time do the doors open?

For the Mann and Arens Series, the doors open at 6:30 PM and the concert starts at 7:30 PM.  For the Salomon Series, doors open at 1:30 PM and the concert begins at 2:00 PM.  Please note that artists, programs and times are subject to change.

What do I do if I lost my ticket?

If you have proof of purchase, please bring it with you to the box office.  If you do not have proof of purchase, please come to the box office so that we can check our records for your subscription order.  If we have a record of your order, we will be happy to issue you a replacement ticket.
